Oceanic Alchemies

This work combines underwater photography of traumatized coral reef worldwide. My images are printed on aluminum and are enhanced by hand with a painterly application of mixed media. By bringing the reef “back to life” so to speak with the addition of color and energy is the message I hope to convey. The series began after an artist residency at the world-famous Heron Island Research Station on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia in 2010.
